For professionals who need clear, impactful visuals.
We manage your production pipeline and design assets to translate complex science into accessible patient education. We also pair healthcare professionals with student teams for smaller, carefully scoped prototyping and beginner projects, while connecting growing projects with experienced professionals as the students and projects develop.

A Blastulab Story
See What Happens When You Find Your People
Christalle and Nasrin met while participating in the UBC Biomedical Visualization and Communication program, where Paige was lead instructor. They have continued working together on projects ever since.

Christalle
"Hello, I'm Christalle! I'm a scientist-turned-Biomedical Visualization Specialist who is passionate about patient and science education. I combine extensive experience in working in the life sciences with my skills in animation and design to create videos, graphics, and illustrations that make complex science and health-related topics engaging and accessible.
I have always loved both the sciences and the arts, and when I heard about the field of biomedical visualization, it seemed like the perfect intersection of my interests. However, making the pivot from my original research-based role was a daunting decision. That's why I'm extremely grateful to Paige for her mentorship throughout my journey. From helping me develop my skills and portfolio through hands-on, real-world projects, to connecting me with collaborators, her support, advice, and enthusiasm have helped me immensely in transitioning into a career in this exciting field!"

Nasrin
"I had the opportunity to have Paige as my mentor during my Biomedical Visualization and Communication program, and what stood out to me most was that her support continued well beyond the program itself.
As I started figuring out how to build my career in this field, she continued to offer guidance, share projects and opportunities with me, and give thoughtful advice about my next steps. She has a genuine interest in helping people grow and find their place in biomedical visualization and communication.
That's why I'm especially excited to see her bring that same support and experience to Blastulab. I think it has the potential to be a really valuable space for people who want to build practical skills, explore different areas of medical visualization and communication, and better understand how to start their own journey in the field."
Christalle and Nasrin have built an ongoing creative partnership. Their collaborations include the Hantavirus animation above, anatomical illustrations for the Prisman Lab at UBC, and an upcoming pancreatic cancer video currently in progress.
